A total of six outstanding students from the Federal University of Technology Akure, has been selected as the fifth batch of students for the exchange programme between the institution and the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, United States of America.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Fawape, on Monday, during an organized farewell event, advised that the students maintain themselves as good representatives of the university, nation and their various families. Fawape, further made it clear that a directive of understanding was signed with FAMU in 2013, which entails that undergraduates with CGPA not less than 3.0 from relevant research departments will be opportune to complete their fifth year programme at FAMU, but not withstanding earn a FUTA degree. He also said that thereafter, students who also wish to take up their Master’s programme can proceed.
The students selected are Odewale Tobiloba, Tokode Ayodeji and Olaborode Samuel who made top three, the others are Adetoyese Mubarak, Arigbede Muyiwa and Jegede Abiola. Also, the Registrar and Director, International office, Mr. Richard Arifalo and Prof. Thomas Ofuya, congratulated the students and urged their parents to always support them financially and emotionally.
